NHS England support for implementation.

If you want to look seriously at switching to a new, modern GP System then there is a dedicated team in NHS England who will support you through the process.NHS England are planning to release a new tranche of funding in April 2024.

They are asking for applications to be submitted ahead of that, to allow them to be approved quickly when the funding window opens.

There are 2 main phases:

• Discovery - you receive funding (up to £20k) to cover the costs incurred in reviewing the new GP System suppliers and deciding if any of them are right for you as a GP Practice to switch to.
• Implementation - if you decide that you want to switch to one of the new GP Systems, then you receive additional funding & project support to make sure that your practice can do it smoothly without impacting on patient care.
  

What to do next?

• Email the Early Adopter Programme Team (gpit.techinnovation@nhs.net) asking to start an application for "Early Adopter Support" to adopt a new GP System from the Tech Innovation Framework.
• They will setup a kick-off call with the NHSE team, ask you to fill out the application form & get a signature from your ICB.
  
• Please also email us (info@medicus.health) directly, so that we can setup a intro meeting as soon as possible.
  

What happens after that?

• You should have discovery conversations with all of the new GP System suppliers to see if they would be a good fit
• After discussing internally within your GP Practice, if you want to adopt one of the GP Systems, then you notify NHSE that you wish to proceed to the Implementation phase, and receive additional funding to support that.
  
• If you choose to adopt Medicus (we hope you do!), we will come on-site immediately to kick-off & plan the implementation project.
